Synopsis

Based on true events, a young warrior Bajirao helps Mastani in fighting invaders and soon falls in love, but he already has a wife at home. Mastani soon finds out, but she is not willing to let go. Bhansali paints historic romance with warm color theme of Maratha Empire.

Sanjay Leela BHANSALI

Born in 1963 in Mumbai, Bansail graduated from Film and Television Institute of India. As a Director, producer, screenwriter, and music composer of India, his filmography includes Khamoshi: The Musical (1996), Devdas (2002), and Bajirao Mastani which won the National Award for Best Direction.
