Synopsis

During the Joseon Dynasty, lowborn Chae-sun challenges the rule that states only men allowed to sing while navigating devotion to her teacher and the demands of the king's father.

Born in 1980, Seoul Korea. With his debut feature, Born To Sing (2012), he left a deep impression by telling the stories of ordinary but unique characters and directed Ensemble (2014). In making The Sound of a Flower, he wants to embody the joy and sorrows contained within the Korean traditional art of pansori.
